PORT REGIS
"One of the country's largest and most successful boarding prep schools, Port Regis, in Dorset, has been a firm fan and supporter of Jo Batten and her colleagues. The Standing Tall workshop has been a regular and highly popular element of the school's Year 8 summer leavers' programme for 7 years now. Deputy Head, Kieron Peacock, feels that these sessions are invaluable in further coaching and developing the all-important personal skills of deportment and body language to promote self-confidence and general awareness. The children really enjoy the workshops and, as a result, are even better prepared than they were before to face transition to public school and life's challenges as young men and women. " |
FETTES COLLEGE
"Fettes College understands the importance of preparing pupils for life beyond Fettes whether that be University or the workplace. Anything that can give them confidence and a competitive edge is greatly appreciated and Standing Tall fits very well with our rigorous programme designed to maximise our pupils' success in the future. Standing Tall is a great ice-breaking workshop, it is always interactive and gets our pupils to try and express themselves, work out of their comfort zone and look for strategies which enables them to cope."
BRYANSTON SCHOOL
"The Standing Tall team descends on us annually with amazing energy, loud music and style. They put our year 11 pupils through a challenging but enjoyable series of games and activities. Initially suspicious, the pupils are quickly put at ease and engage enthusiastically with all they are asked to do. They come out of the session buzzing and armed with some really useful strategies for walking into new situations with confidence."
BUCKSWOOD SCHOOL
"The Standing Tall workshops are one of the talking points of the year amongst our sixth form at Buckswood. The students have really developed a better understanding of themselves as well as a clear grasp of what is required in order to succeed in world beyond the school gates. The instructors are energetic, engaging and produce clear results from our students through these sessions."
BROOMWOOD HALL UPPER SCHOOL
"Our girls really look forward to the Standing Tall workshop - it is a real treat after they have worked so hard for their exams and the girls can really let themselves go and strut their stuff to some loud, fun music. Even our shyest girls have a wail of a time and learn some really valuable lessons - when one pupil told me that everything feels so easy now, and that she is not scared of anything anymore, I knew it was money well invested. Each girl has a smile plastered over her face for the whole session; what a great way to end our school year."
KINGS COLLEGE, TAUNTON
"It has been much reported recently that many young people entering the world of work lack basic social skills. At King's College we take the development of these skills very seriously and Standing Tall plays an important part in our overall program. The Standing Tall team always produce a dynamic and dramatic interactive experience for our sixth formers, one which focuses on the importance of bearing and confidence in particular."
ST. CATHERINE'S BRAMLEY
"The Yr 9 girls at St Catherine's thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. Most felt that their confidence improved as the workshop progressed, and that they were given useful tips and strategies to develop and maintain their confidence in the future."
MONKTON PREP
"Every year, the dynamic Standing Tall team arrive at Monkton Prep School to spend the morning with our Year 8 leavers. A morning of great fun ensues - loud music, lots of energy, huge involvement. Pupils quickly throw off their inhibitions and learn to use the techniques they are taught to give themselves an air of confidence and self-awareness that will give them a head start in later life, especially in those situations where they might feel less secure. The interaction between the team and the pupils has to be seen to be believed! Standing Tall is a real highlight of the year!"
KNIGHTON HOUSE
"Standing Tall have worked with the girls in Alpha (leavers) for the last eight years focusing on improving their confidence when approaching new people and situations. This has proved extremely helpful prior to moving on to their new senior schools."
BRUTON SCHOOL FOR GIRLS
"We always love having you here to do your inspirational workshop, and I am looking forward to trying to book you again early in 2013."
PERROTT HILL SCHOOL
"We were delighted to welcome Standing Tall to Perrott Hill and their programme added a further dimension to our own on-going efforts to develop our children's manners and etiquette. The session was informative, entertaining and extremely well received by the pupils and it is worth mentioning that the feedback from parents and staff was equally praiseworthy. We will be inviting Standing Tall back again this year and for the foreseeable future; the children would be hugely disappointed if they did not have an opportunity to learn from Jo, Heddy and their team." |
ST. MARY'S CALNE
"'We were delighted to offer our pupils a 'Standing Tall' Workshop earlier this year. The workshop was a fun exercise covering some of the vital aspects in appearing self confident and at ease, which was taught by using training techniques employed by catwalk and stage professionals. The objective was to teach students how to stand tall, walk well, and move gracefully. Participants learnt about posture, positive body language, skincare and grooming, self-control and confidence and also undertook catwalk training! We believe that the skills learnt are transferable to all areas of life, including going for that first interview, auditions and public speaking. Standing Tall have delivered workshops to the UV Form for the past four years and the feedback from the girls who have participated has been very positive."
